Two years after opening for business, HairWorks Salon
moved to a new location and started offering spa services in November
2007.
Owner Donna Miller decided Monticello needed a day spa so
customers could get a variety of services in one place.
“(Monticello) needed a place to get everything done,”
Miller said. “No one else offered a place to do it all.”
The salon moved from 420 West Gaines to 531 West Gaines
Suite 3, right next to Breaker Drive-Inn.
After adding the new spa services, Miller said the traffic
in the salon tripled.
“The response from Monticello has been wonderful,” Miller
said.
Miller said customers should expect an unforgettable spa
experience. They offer typical spa services including Swedish massage,
healing stone massage, salt glows, facials, pedicures and
manicures.
“We just want to wait on customers hand and foot,” Miller
said. “Our motto is ‘leave your troubles at the door.'”
The spa also offers Botox and Restylane injection. Miller
said they have an injection specialist to offer those services.
HairWorks offers special spa services including spray
tanning, coffee pedicures and ear candling. According to Earcandling.com, ear candling can
help rid customers of headaches, sinus problems, vertigo and other
conditions caused by the ear.
With Valentine’s Day around the corner, HairWorks offers salon and day spa packages customers can buy as gifts for a significant other. HairWorks also sells gift certificates. Packages comprise:

services to pamper clients. "You come here and it's all about you,"
Miller said. |
For customers with children, HairWorks provides spa
packages to pamper children 12 and younger.
Britney Hornaday, University of Arkansas at Monticello
student, said her boyfriend bought her a spa package from HairWorks for
Valentine’s Day.
“I’m so excited about (the package). I really need the
relaxation,” Hornaday said.
Hornaday said she was surprised when she found out
Hairworks added a spa, but glad because Monticello needed it.
“It’s so inconvenient to have to go one place to get your
hair done, another place to get your nails done and then another place
to get a massage or a facial,” Hornaday said.
Miller said the atmosphere makes customers immediately
feel at home in the salon. She stressed that customers remain the
staff’s first priority. Miller credits the salon’s success to the
friendly atmosphere they provide.
“I’m very friendly,” Miller said. “I’m the type of person
that will meet someone and then take them home for Christmas
dinner.”
HairWorks kept the same phone number when they moved to
their new location. For additional information on the salon and spa
services offered at the salon, contact Owner Donna Miller at
