Work accident in front of the bookstore. (See report #08-A003).

Received call from the Fred J. Taylor Library and Technology Center about noises coming from a closet. Called maintenance.
Jan. 30
Requested by faculty member to go to the Education building.
In the John F. Gibson University Center for training.
Vehicle unlock in the Willard Hall parking lot. Boost in the baseball parking lot.
Received call from a student at the U.C. about a hit and run. Upon inspection of the vehicle, it was noticed that the front panel was chipped and dented in. Made a report about the incident and took the statement of the owner. Advised the student that we would review the video tape at the scene to gather any available evidence.
Received reports about severe weather from the Monticello and Wilmar Police Departments.
Jan. 31
Replace the post at the walkway leading to the university east entrance.
Out at the U.C. to review the video for evidence of a hit and run that happened last night.
Out at the library for the first-responder first aid training.
Made traffic stop.
Feb. 1
Traffic stop with a UAM student for no taillights. Advised him to park the vehicle until able to get the lights fixed.
Out on Highway 425 South to assist Drew 7 with a possible DWI stop.
Vehicle unlock at Harris Hall.
Go to check loud noise at the library. Talk with a few of the students. Go to another call about the library; all quiet upon my arrival.
Go back to the library and advise the few people there to be quiet.
Talk with a subject about a citation.
Feb. 2
Received a call from a UAM student requesting I unlock his vehicle. He stated he was at the E-Z Mart on Highway 425. I told him I was not able to leave campus to perform unlocks.
Monitor traffic returning from the Kappa party at the National Guard Armory. Traffic stop with a UAM student for rolling stop at the stop sign.
Make a traffic stop.
Noticed several skateboarders. When I went to tell them to not skate on buildings, several subjects took off running. Finally got most of them and got their names. I have had trouble with this group on campus several times. All are non-students. Advised them to leave and not to come back.

Feb. 3
Made contact with the RA at Horsfall Hall trying to contact the owner of the vehicle parked in the reserved parking spot. Unable to locate her, but requested the word be passed for her to please move her vehicle.
Noticed that the vehicle at Horsfall had been moved, so this officer taped off all five parking spaces.
Received a call from a resident of the University B Apartments stating that she had locked her keys in her bedroom. Attempted to contact the RA. Unable to reach theme, so I let her into her room and checked her student identification card.
Received a call from the library stating there was an audible alarm going off. Arrived at the library and found that there was a trouble alarm stating "AC Fail or Brown Out." Attempted to contact the duty boiler operator. Went to the Physical Plant and found that there was no on-duty boiler operator. Accessed the alarm panel in the back of the library and silenced the alarm.

Feb. 4
Some traffic around campus and light foot traffic with no taillights on Scogin. Subject had headlight switch off but headlights came on due to automatic function. He did not know his taillights were not on. Turned lights on. Issued a verbal warning.
Some activity around Jeter Hall with two fraternities having meetings. No other activities going on during this time.
Call from student at Bankston Hall about noise coming from dorm. Went to the dorm and did a walk through. Found several students not sleeping, but found no noisy area. Told all to go be quiet and go to bed. All complied.
Vehicle unlock at Jeter Hall.
Went to escort the governor.
Boost at the Science Center. Vehicle unlock at the Memorial Classroom Building. Vehicle unlock Agriculture building.
Fire alarm reported at the University A Apartment. Resident was cooking in the oven, reset alarm, system returned to normal.
Traffic stop behind the Crackerbox south on State School Road.
Feb. 5
Severe weather in the area with nothing in Drew County at this time. Cell phone service is down due to storm that went through Pine Bluff. Un-forwarded phones and had 111 answer phones and relay calls to me.
Out at U.C. to take theft of property report about stolen cell phone.
Teaching a Domestic Violence Class at the library.
High winds at this time but no yet. Bradley County was put under a severe thunderstorm warning at this time with storm expected to move east into Drew County within 20 minutes.
Storm arrived on campus at this time with no damage on campus but a large tree is down on University Drive between Highway 425 and Drew Central School. Went with another officer out to direct traffic around the hazard. Called Monticello P.D. and advised them to call the Highway Department and have them come and cut the tree from the road.
I was advised the AHD was very busy at this time with other trees down and they would get to the tree as soon as possible. UAM Grounds personnel were called to assist with tree removal. During this time the rain was wind driven and coming down sideways. Drew Central basketball game also let out and an estimated 100 cars were directed around the tree hazard.
Ground arrived on campus and brought a back-hoe down to area and the highway department arrived at the same time and jointly removed the tree. The rain has stopped during this time.
Received call from RA at Maxwell Hall about a student that was cursing her as she was attempting to write him up for noise and asked for assistance.
Tree has been removed from University Drive. Assisted another officer at Maxwell Hall. Everything has been taken care of.
Call about another tree across a fence on north end of campus just past Agriculture building. He said he tried to call AG1 with no answer. I went to look at damage and found the fence was in a pasture that had no animals in it at this time and did not attempt to call anyone else.
Out at Bankston Hall to do walk through. Everything 10-4 and quiet. Out at Maxwell Hall to do a walk around. All quiet also. Checked other dorm areas with no activity around any of them.

In the office to monitor the severe weather.
Out at the office to talk with the Monticello P.D. detective, also to study for class and to monitor the severe weather.
Assist another officer with the campus after the storm.
Out at Maxwell at the request of the Maxwell RA, who was about to write up four students that have been acting up.

Feb. 6
Unlock vehicle at the U.C. Monitor traffic on campus. Check all of the parking lots around campus. Go to Bookstore to check on alarm.
Out with parole and probation officers at Bankston Hall. No contact with subject. Out at office to check on FTA's on subject.
Out at University Apartments to unlock vehicle.
Go to Business Babin Center to boost off vehicle.
Out at office to talk with municipal court clerk. Work on a old case file.
Traffic stop on Scogin Road for improper equipment. Issued a verbal warning.
Running radar on University Drive and Scogin. Out on traffic stop with on Scogin with a UAM student for excessive speed (29 in a 20 mile per hour zone).
Received a call from the Family Housing Units stating that a resident was knocked out and needed assistance. Upon my arrival, found that the resident was locked out not knocked out. Unlocking the apartment was complicated in that neither the front door nor the back door had cores in the deadbolts.

Feb. 7
Go to BBC to unlock a vehicle. No contact. Go to Willard to boost off vehicle. No contact. Go to Willard to unlock vehicle. Go to BBC to unlock vehicle.
Go unlock vehicle at BBC. Go to Royer Hall to unlock vehicle.
Patrolling parking lots and monitoring four-ways.
Received a call from officer working the basketball game stating that she needed assistance in removing a subject from the gym. Upon arrival, the subject was standing outside the fieldhouse preparing to leave on his bicycle. I held a brief conversation with him where he stated that he felt he was being discriminated against. He then departed.
Received a call from Monticello P.D. who requested I assist him with locating a subject who had been reported missing. The subject was known to have a girlfriend in Royer Hall. We went to the girlfriend's room and the gym with a picture. One of the Bankston Hall RAs stated he knew the individual and would make contact and have him call his mother.
Received a call from officer working the basketball game that the subject who was requested to leave the gym was now outside the fieldhouse asking people to take pictures of the stands for him. Upon my arrival back at the gym, I observed the subject on the east side of the pond on his bicycle riding south.

Lower the flag to half staff.
Report of an accident in front of the MCB.
While getting lunch at the cafeteria, Public Safety advised that there was a disturbance at the Patio Cafe. In the office typing a memo in reference to the earlier disturbance call.
Boost at the MCB. Vehicle unlock at Royer Hall.
In the office to do an accident report.
Traffic stop at the fieldhouse for no stop at a stop sign.
Traffic stop for failure to yield at four-way intersection by the Agriculture building. Issued a UAM citation.
Noticed student trying to boost pick-up truck on side parking lot of Royer Hall. Students were unable to boost the pick-up and asked if they could "leave the pick-up and tow it away tomorrow." Agreed and the students pushed the pick-up back into the parking space.
Feb. 9
Raise the flag to full staff.
A call from a concerned parent of a student that was having a problem with a male subject in her dorm room. The male subject is not a UAM student. It was reported the male would not let the student leave her room. The male subject was not at the room upon my arrival. The student was OK and was advised if the male subject returned to her room to call Public Safety immediately.
Fire alarm reported at Horsfall Hall. The detector in the attic area had malfunctioned and gave a false alarm. Maintenance reset the alarm and returned the system to normal.
Called the parent of the student in the earlier incident and advised that everything was OK.

Feb. 11
Issue decals.
Received a call of disturbance at Harris Hall in the Cashier's Office.
Unlock a vehicle at Maxwell Hall. Boost off a vehicle at the Bookstore.
Received a call from RA at Maxwell Hall about several people out front throwing water balloons and being rowdy. Went and talked with several subjects and advise them on how to act.
Got a call from cafeteria worker about students acting up at the Cafe. Went to talk with some of the students.
Thunderstorm moving in with periods of heavy rain with lightening and thunder.
Feb. 12
Check all of the parking lots around the campus. Monitor traffic on campus.
Assist Drew County S.O. with location of a vehicle.
Unlock vehicle at Harris Hall.
Out at cafeteria to monitor students.
Out at library to teach law enforcement class.
Received a call from the cleaning crew at Drew Central High School requesting I make a pass through the high school to look for three juveniles they had seen running in the high school. Contacted Monticello Dispatch who then sent MPD to assist. No juveniles were located. Will recommend to the Drew Central principal that he check his surveillance cameras to try to identify the juveniles.
Feb. 13
Vehicle unlock at family housing. Boost in the BBC parking lot.
Out at the library for a call of loud students. Made contact with six students who said that they were not making any noise. Asked who it was and they said it was some guyss that had left. No further problems reported.
In the office to do a theft report.
Out at Willard Hall to check on a lock problem. This will be a maintenance issue; will contact that department in the morning.
Out at the U.C. south to unlock student's car.
Out on Scogin just past Fire Station 2 with stranded motorist. Subject ran out of gas and left to get gas and when she got back, she found out she locked her keys in the car. Unlocked the car and stood by until she got the car running.
Traffic stop with UAM student for no stop at stop sign on Scogin and University Drive. Issued UAM citation for the same.
Feb. 14
Called an officer in to work a party at the U.C. Valentine's dinner going on in the Green Room at U.C. and basketball game at the fieldhouse.
Traffic stop with UAM first-year student for wrong way on a one-way street. Issued verbal warning for the same.
Out at MCB for vehicle unlock.
Out at north parking lot of the U.C. to ensure students leave area after the party in an orderly manner.
Out at Weevil Run apartments for domestic disturbance.
Out at the fieldhouse to discuss incident that happened yesterday.
Complaint of students parking in the faculty/staff area at the Science Center. Checked and all vehicles were in compliance.
Out at Maxwell Hall to talk with student in reference to the incident yesterday.
A complaint of parking in front of the BBC. Issued parking citations for the parking violations.
Complaint of a vehicle blocking the loading dock at the cafeteria. Vehicle was gone upon my arrival.
Vehicle unlock at the MCB. Two vehicle unlocks at Maxwell Hall. Vehicle unlock at the Science Center.
In the office getting statement from a student involved in the incident yesterday.
Out to talk with some of the auxiliary officer training students at the library.
