Police Log

   Check parking lot behind the Science Center.  Advise people at the Science Center that handicap permits were allowed to park in the Fine Arts Center parking lot.

   Monitor traffic.  Issue citations.

   Patrol campus with parole officers looking for subject.

   Talk with Residence Life to check on a subject at Bankston Hall.

   Issued UAM citation for expired LP.

   Traffic stop for failure to yield at a four-way.  Issued UAM citation.

   Traffic stop on a UAM student for a rolling stop at the stop sign by the Agriculture building.

Feb. 16

   Out with Drew County S.O. on Highway 425 South.

   Out at University B Apartments for fire alarm.  All 10-4.  Back to B apartments again for a fire alarm.

   Thunderstorm and high winds moving in at approximately 2330.  Moderate rain.

   Rain ended at approximately 0245.  No activity on campus.
 

   Out at the Crackerbox on Highway 425 South to speak with Monticello Police Department officer.  Possible officer involved in a motor vehicle accident, and he was letting me know that he may need to contact us until other units finished at the accident.

   Out with two vehicles parked at the corner of University Drive and Scogins.  UAM students waiting for another student to come out of Royer Hall.

   Received a call from a cafeteria worker that the loading dock door was unlocked.  Cleared the cafeteria, finding nothing out of order.

Feb. 18

   In the Public Safety Office issuing parking permits and decals.

   Vehicle unlock at the John F. Gibson University Center.

   Traffic stop with UAM student for no stop at stop sign on Scogin and University Drive.  Issued UAM citation for the same.

   Traffic stop with UAM student on University Drive and Drew Central for speeding.  48 in 35.  Issued verbal warning for the same.

   Traffic stop with UAM student for loud music on University Drive and Bankston.  Issued UAM citation for the same.

Feb. 19

   A call from a student at Maxwell Hall who was concerned about his vehicle omitting smoke from the oil fill tube.  Went to look at the vehicle and advised him that it was normal.

   Boost at the Babin Business Center.

   Out at the Fred J. Taylor Library and Technology Center for class.

   Traffic stop with UAM student for driving too fast for conditions.  Witnessed student leaving the University Center north parking area very quickly in a car with students walking nearby and a parking lot full of cars in both U.C. North and Maxwell South parking, making it difficult to see well.  Issued UAM citation for the same.

   Traffic stop with UAM student for speeding on Lakeshore Drive.  Issued UAM citation for the same.

Feb. 20

   Out at parole and probation office to check on papers on subject.

   Advise a subject that he cannot be on campus.  Take banned letter to residence assistant.

   Received a call about theft of property at the U.C. gym.  Went out to take report.

   Traffic stop on an Aramark employee for headlight out.  Issued a verbal warning.

   Received a call from the custodial office.  One of the custodial workers hit a deer on Scogins by the elementary school.  I arrived at the location and found the deer lying on the side of the road with it's head up and looking around.  I exited my vehicle and the animal got up and limped off towards the woods.  I approached it again approximately 30 yards away, and the animal, again, got up and moved off toward the woods.

   Issued UAM citation for vehicle backed into a parking spot.

   Traffic stop on University Drive for failure to stop at four-way.  UAM citation issued.

Feb. 21

  Out at probation office to pick up file.

   Vehicle unlock at Willard Hall.

   Go check on the activities of subjects.  No contact.

   Go check noise at the library.  All quiet upon arrival.

   Go to library for Auxiliary class.

   Running radar on University Drive.  Traffic stop for speeding.  50 in a 35 zone.  UAM citation issued.
