A Parental Concern

Just as I recently solved some of my son’s sexual questions brought up by other children at recess, now I worry about the possibility of children‘s influence over his sexual affiliation.
According to MSNBC, a third-grade boy from Douglas County, Colo., wants to be treated as a girl. If that doesn’t shock you, how about the fact the school he attends is accommodating his type of “diversity” by allowing him to be called a girl’s name and use the unisex bathrooms?
I am concerned for the child who thinks it’s OK, his parents who allow him to portray this false identity, and the school which allows this child to affect other children attempting to get an education. This little boy doesn’t know what he wants and is in need of therapy, but the political correctness craze in America is leaving him to become a confused, troubled teen. What’s worse? He is causing confusion for other children.
Fact is, we are all different in some way, but there must be a standard for society. The way it is now, society looks the other way if a male surgically changes his genitals in order to be called Donna instead of Donald. Sure, he’s still human and has feelings, but what about his mental health and how his choice affects others? If children are observant of small, harmless differences such as ethnicity, surely the sight of a female with a five o’clock shadow will cause a need for some thorough explanation.
Our children need proper role models. If everyone pretends these actions are acceptable, children will grow up with a lack of understanding the difference between right and wrong. There is no gray area to morality and those who believe there is a medium are probably the ones who think abortion is acceptable. I dare not venture there. Despite society’s attempt to keep everyone happy, someone needs to start standing up for the innocent little people in America. Little people meaning our children. If you thought I meant people suffering from genetic abnormalities or those vertically challenged, then so be it.
