Students at the University of Arkansas at Monticello want more dodgeball games, after finishing the tournament held in the John F. Gibson University Center gym Thursday, Feb. 21.
Director of Intramurals and Recreation Julie Gentry and the Intramural and Recreation staff hosted a dodgeball tournament at 5 p.m. for current students, faculty and staff members celebrating National Recreational Sports & Fitness day. Teams consisted of four-to-six players in a double elimination bracket, where players could only participate with one team.
“I think there should be an intramural league on this sport; it was something different," said Jacqueline Brewer, first-year student.
Many participated, but only two teams could be the champion - one for the men’s and one for the women’s. The Baptist Collegiate Ministry won it for the women’s, while the Channel 4 News Team took home the men’s championship honors.
