Snow Ball Fight - Several students have a impromptu snow ball fight outside of Maxwell Hall. The university closed the afternoon of Friday, March 7 for a rare snow day.

“Though it’s been roughly 50 years since the last
tornado in Monticello, there have been near misses since then,
according to Professor Jim Edson, director of Turner Neal Museum.
'I have been told by a number of students and local
residents that tornadoes don’t strike Monticello for a variety of
reason,' Edson said. 'This is just another case of misinformation.'” (more)

“Public Safety officers are investigating recent thefts of property from the Memorial
Classroom Building.
According to Trey Berry, professor of history and dean
of the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences, some personal items
belonging to faculty members and some school property were taken from
outer faculty offices and the hallways in the MCB.” (more)
