In just three weeks of existence, the Fancy Nail created a buzz of talk around the community.

Fancy Nail does solar nails pink and white service, which no other salon in Monticello offers. Steve Ho, owner, has over 15 years experience in the nail business with stops in Dumas and Arlington, Texas.

Nail Service - Steve Ho gives a solar nail pink and white service to first-year student Donna Merritt. The new nail salon has gained popularity in town.

Steve and wife Tina work the shop themselves and build up their clientèle with friendly service.

Donna Merritt, a first-year student, is already a loyal customer because of the service and conversation with the couple every time she goes into their business.

“It is a friendly environment and they take their time with you,” Merritt said.

Fancy Nail is located on West Gaines Street and gives a $2 discount to all current university students and faculty.

“The UAM discount doesn’t matter; I would come without a discount,” Merritt said.

Ho said his goal is to compete with other business with their prices, services and to stay ahead of the curve with the latest nail care products.

“I come here because the service is wonderful, and they make my nails looks better” sophomore Chemia Herron said.

Fancy Nails is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.  The nail salon also accepts walk-ins.
