Some SGA members moved to revise the SGA constitution, but Lindsey Kight, director of Student Programs and Activities, said the new officers would meet with the incoming Student Programs and Activities director over the summer to discuss rewriting the constitution.
After weeks of campaigning, SGA elected new officers for the 2008-09 school year. New officers comprise:
-
President - Michael Thomas
-
Vice President - Michael Reynolds
-
Secretary - Fred Lilly
-
Treasurer - Joseph Jordan
Thomas said he wants to put the student back in SGA.
“As president I plan to get the student body more involved in SGA,” Thomas said. According to Thomas, the lack of participation from the student body in SGA meetings inspired him to run for president.
SGA will not hold any more meetings this semester, but students can visit the Student Activities office in the John F. Gibson University Center to relay their comments and concerns. With Kight leaving after this semester, the SGA and SAB meeting time for next semester cannot be determined yet.
