Founder and front man of Reach Records uses rap in its purest form to convey the message of Jesus Christ, the coming Messiah.

Lecrae Moore, publicly known as Lecrae, uses his God given ability to make music that not only informs a person about Christ, but it also empowers those living and desiring to live the life Christ intends for his people. His third album, entitled “Rebel,” follows suit and will have you saying to Christ “Take Me As I Am.”

The strongest messages on “Rebel” speak about being different and not conforming to the world and its view.

Take “Indwelling Sin” for example, a story in which Lecrae converses with sin which tries to get the artist to do things not pleasing to God. The track begins with Lecrae being tempted by lust, smoking marijuana and drinking. Sin begins to talk and attempts to persuade him by bringing up his past life of chasing women/getting drunk/and getting high/stacking money/staying fly/living up the playas life. Although the sin appears to be tempting, Lecrae takes authority and reminds sin of the trouble he got into making the statement “what I look like trying ta gratify this disease in me.”

This album features all artists from the Reach Records family.

Tedashii is featured on “Go Hard.” This song, with its southern influence, makes a bold statement beginning with “Lord kill me if I don’t preach the gospel.” It expresses the need for the people of God to begin compelling nonbelievers to follow Christ.

On “Live Free,” Sho Baraka, also featured on “Rebel,” brings his techno style along for the ride.

Trip Lee comes through clearly on “Fall Back,” a track that talks about being aware of the messages embedded in the media. Lecrae says, “Be a rebel let the word of God lead you/Satan uses media to tempt you and deceive you/he will lead ya/leach ya/and leave ya/so be careful as you navigate thru media.”

Lecrae's message becomes evident through the “Rebel Intro,” he informs listeners of the need to rebel. Lecrae said we no longer rebel if the culture agrees. His overall statement, bold like the album title, informs listeners of the past when rebellion meant sinner; now everyone sins so it is no longer rebellious to sin.
