Strengthening America's Job Market

If the election of President Barack Obama means anything, it means the success of diversity. Success defined with hope and even wondering for the future about what the average citizen just might accomplish if they just try.
The 2008 presidential election showed several candidates who did not make it to the White House, those who came close and one who received the title as President of the United States.
The debates showed bickering and fighting, vague answers and some very well spoken responses by many of the candidates. Now that the selected winner received his trophy, chose his people to aid him and receives the whole United States to make decisions for. How will he lead?
According to the text of Obama’s speech provided by the Associated Press, Obama describes a continuing journey and the United States to remain powerful. He said the “state of the economy calls for action, bold and swift to not only create jobs, but to lay a new foundation.”
If we can create new jobs, couldn’t we bring back the ones moved to foreign countries back the United States? Can we bring back the tried and true label “made in USA?” "Made in USA" used to mean quality and products that last for more than three years. What are we truly saving my outsourcing jobs to other countries if we cannot afford to buy the products made? Why can't we have help lines with people on the other end of the line who can speak understandable English and be able to help you? If the United States is the "Land of Opportunity," why are some Americans wishing for the opportunity to hear "You're hired?" If we already have the foundation, the United States needs to strengthen the foundation it already has, rebuild the old and add upon with the new.
Unemployment according to CNN.com is a low as 3.2 in Wyoming and as high as 9.8 in Michigan. The overall unemployment rate soared to 6.1 percent with total job losses being 605,000 in 2008 and surges to a five-year high, according to a Sept. 5, 2008 article on CNN.com.
The highest unemployment rates seen in the United States occurred in 1932 at 23.6 percent and in 1934 at 21.7 percent and this occurred during the Great Depression.
President Obama, I hope with the promises you have made you will be successful in repairing many of the problems or provide the road to recovery. Hopefully by reworking and repairing many of the weak points in today’s economic climate that caused the U.S. economy to be in its current condition, the United States can once again be prosperous.
