Spring Training 2009 offers students, faculty and staff the chance to get healthy through exercise Feb. 2 - March. 13.

The goal of the program helps people to get used to a regular exercise program and establish a regular workout routine. Each “trainee” participates in a self-determined exercise program and submits documentation for a minimum of 20 work-outs by March 13. The documentation  includes the type and duration of each workout.

“It’s all about diet and exercise, but it’s important to not overdo the exercise on the first day,” Terri Richardson, director of Student Health Services and Exercise Center said.

Spring Training provides regularly scheduled weight checks, body fat analysis and blood pressure checks for each “trainee.” Participants who submit documentation for the required number of workouts earn the eligibility to win a University of Arkansas-Monticello Exercise Center T-shirt.

To sign up for the initial assessment, students need to bring information, which includes:

•    Your name

•    A contact number (cell phone number preferred)

•    The days and times you are available for an initial assessment between Jan. 27 and Feb. 5.

For more information or to sign-up for Spring Training, email Terri Richardson at richardson@uamont.edu.
