Intensity - Head coach Gwaine Mathews shows a great amount of intensity at spring practice as the team prepares for the upcoming season.

Head coach Gwaine Mathews has had to make a few additions to the coaching staff and has brought in quality people to fill voids left by departing coaches.

Change is never easy, but how you deal with it is what determines the character of an athlete. The team is hard at work, trying to improve upon last seasons effort.

New coaches this season include Troy Stubbs as backs coach and Jafar Williams as wide-receivers coach.

Derek Warehime was also promoted to offensive coordinator.

Whether its tackling drills, running plays or the always dreaded up-downs, the Weevils are hard at work.

Just across campus from the practice field behind Bankston Hall, the new indoor practice facility is drawing closer to completion.  Just this time last year many men began laying the foundation for the new facility that will draw many new and better athletes to UAM.

Spring practices are every Saturday in April, and they begin at 2:30 pm. Practices are held on the field behind behind Bankston Hall and are open to the public. Show support early this season for the Weevils.

The spring green and white game will take place Friday, May 1 at 6:30 pm at Convoy Leslie Cotton Boll Stadium.
