Obama Supports While Restricting Liberty

 “A day, an hour, of virtuous liberty is worth more than a lifetime in bondage.”

 “Liberty’s in every blow! Let us do or die” Robert Burns.

 “Where liberty dwells, there is my country.” Ben Franklin.

 “The greatest dangers to liberty lurk in insidious encroachment by mean of zeal, well meaning but without understanding.” Louis D. Brandeis

    This last quote rings true regarding Barack Obama, a well meaning man who captured the hearts of millions upon millions of Americans. But the truth remains; electing him will result in a worse encroachment on our liberties.

    Our nation was “conceived in liberty.” The first of its kind, no other voting issue filled the masses such as liberty. Every law was passed with crucial observance to ensure it allowed the utmost freedom. As long as one was not trespassing on another’s right to pursue life, liberty, and property… man was free to do as he saw fit. What a “change” Obama would bring.

   Obama supported legislation while a serving in Illinois that would ban an American from purchasing more than one gun month. We are afforded this right in our Constitution. The Supreme Court has just recently ruled so. Here is one example of the man taking away our liberty to purchase as we see fit.

   Obama also wants to force small business owners to carry a certain insurance mandated by the State. Again, taking away the liberty of the owner to run his/her business as they wish.

   Interestingly, households making $250,000 per year reported two-thirds of this income or more the very same households that Obama wants to increase taxes on. So just think if all these small business people are taxed more than 50 percent. So we will see more of this hard earned money taken from these average Americans. John McCain does not want to raise taxes on business however, but cut them. God Bless him.

   Obama will also support the murder of life while it is in the womb. Obama has gone as far as saying once a child is “wholly emerged from the womb still does not qualify for rights under the 14th Amendment.” Here is the most obvious case of taking away the liberty of a human.

    I also found that Obama does not agree with giving parents the ability to choose which schools their children go to. He is against school vouchers, again taking away the liberty of the average American.

   A lot of this is not our fault. According to most polls the economy, energy, Iraq, health care, and education all remain the most important issues. Liberty is nowhere to be found. We take it for granted. For me, give me liberty over health care, for without liberty I would rather die. Give me liberty over a paycheck any day; I don’t want a dollar if I can’t spend it the way I wish. Give me liberty over Obama, for with him, Liberty will most assuredly be taken away.
