Making History - UAM quarterback Scott Buisson makes history. Buisson passed for 400 yards and rushed for 200 yards against Henderson on Saturday, Sept. 20.

Research confirmed sophomore quarterback Scott Buisson as the first player in NCAA history at any level to pass for 400 yards and rush for 200 yards in a single game.

Buisson (5-10, 175, Metairie, La.) accomplished the feat Saturday, Sept. 20 in a 51-48 win over Henderson State.  He racked up 640 total offensive yards (424 passing, 216 rushing), breaking a Gulf South Conference single-game record (591, Marty Washington, West Alabama, 1993), as well as breaking his own UAM record of 570 set last season against Harding.

The player in history to come close to the feat, retired NFL quarterback and famous Alcorn State alumnus Steve McNair, passed for 493 yards and rushed for 111 yards in a contest with Jackson State Nov. 21, 1992.

Buisson also completed 20 consecutive passes against Henderson, tying a NCAA Division II single-game record.

Buisson's performance places fourth in NCAA Division II history for total yards in a game and 15th at any level.
