Call from RA at Royer Hall about a student that she was concerned about. The student supposedly took several pills and left the dorm. We found the student at the Missionary Baptist Student Fellowship and found that the pills were prescribed to the student and had taken more than recommended but seemed OK. Spoke to the student and MBSF director for a while and he told me and the RA the student would stay at the MBSF with him and another student for the night.
Reported fire on the first floor of Bankston Hall in the southeast bathroom. I called the fire department and arrived at dorm to find the RA staff had put the fire otu with a fire extinguisher. Significant damage had been done to the bathroom. The fire department arrived and ventilated all floors of the dorm and cleared fire debris from the bathroom. Locked the bathroom and silenced alarm and allowed students back into the dorm. The fire started in a trash can, which was plastic and burned up the wall and caught the air freshener above it on fire. This caused damage to the lights and ceiling in the bathroom. GA will review video to see if fire was deliberate and if anyone could be linked to the fire.
Out at Physical Plant to advise cleaning staff about fire and additional cleaning needs on first floor hall at Bankston. Back on Patrol.
