What do you remember most about your time at the University of Arkansas at Monticello?
Professor of speech communication Gary Marshall’s performance studies class wants memories and experiences from current students, faculty and alumni.
According to Marshall, a performance piece will take place later in the semester, possibly in the form of sketches or poems, retelling enjoyable experiences connected to UAM.
“We’re gathering material right now,” he said.
Chris Brown contacted The Voice to have periodical excerpts of the project published in the Commentary section. He will collect the information and the class will organize it into the parts to be published or presented during the performance.
Marshall compared the project to the 1999 performance piece in the Memorial Classroom Building, as poem excerpts were placed within the sculptures in the stairwells.
Marshall asked for those contributing info to include the dates they attended UAM when submitting their stories.
Experiences and memories may be e-mailed to The Voice through Feb. 15.
Marshall said information will soon be posted to the UAM Alumni Facebook page for people to contribute.
