The cult classic, "The Boondock Saints," continues its story with the anticipated sequel, "Boondock Saints II:All Saints Day."
Brothers Conner MacManus, Murphy MacManus and their Father Noah, take an 8-year haitus in Ireland until they're informed that they're framed for a murder in Boston that they didn't commit.
Now the brothers and their father travel back to Boston and track down the person who framed them and manage to meet a few new allies on the way.
Troy Duffy, director of "Boondock Saints," explains in an interview with IGN.com that the actors from the original are back for the sequel:
"Everybody's back in except Willem Dafoe, because sometimes actors have their careers plotted out in different ways and he's sort of doing a different thing now. So he's the only one who won't be back."
Billy Connolly, the brothers, Rocco, everybody's in and calling me every two weeks and going "when are we going to do this thing?"
The original film, made in 1999, didn't receive good ratings in the box office, but amazingly gained a cult following. A re-release special edition digital video disc of the film released on May 6, 2009, featured commentary and deleted scenes of the film.
"All Saints Day" delivers more action than the original film with a more intense story line. However the sequel at times strays from the original film also acting in this film isn't as good.
The film, released in theaters in Nov. 1, 2009, didn't as good ratings as the first film. According to the Rotten Tomatoes community critics the film received a 78 percent while the preceding film recieved an 83 percent.
"Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day" is now available on DVD.
