The University of Arkansas-Monticello Art Club will open its “Faces” exhibit the week of Oct. 13 in Jeter Hall Room 101.
According to club member Belinda Jeffers, who will display her own art in the exhibit, any UAM student may submit work with his or her interpretation of the theme “Faces.”
Art shown in the exhibit may include both canvas and 3D creations.
“We have no expectations of artists to interpret the theme a certain way,” Jeffery Trotter, Art Club President, said.
He clarified by saying the artists may interpret the theme however loosely they choose.
Jeffers also said some of the art in the exhibit may be sold, such as pieces from students in painting courses.
According to Trotter, opening day of the exhibit would be the best day to view the art and advised checking the UAM e-mail for an e-mail from Tom Richard announcing the date.
Richard said he left the planning of the exhibit in the hands of the Art Club members and a reception should follow once complete.
Trotter said those interested in viewing the exhibit after the opening day should contact him via e-mail.
The exhibit will be on display throughout the fall semester.
