Boomtown Classic: UAM vs. SAU

   This Saturday will be a night to remember as the UAM Weevils take on the SAU Muleriders during the Boomtown Classic at Memorial Stadium in El Dorado. Not only will the two football teams go head to head on Nov. 7th, but the fans get a chance to compete as well.

   The UAM tailgaters will compete with the SAU tailgaters in the Boomtown Classic Tailgaiting Contest, starting with the tailgating registration at 11:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.

   According to the University of Arkansas at Monticello's Office of Student Programs and Activities, "There will be first and second place prizes awarded to teams from each school (4 prizes in all) and there will also be a door prize drawing from all who are registered. Prizes will be tailgating packages such as: tent, grill, coolers and chairs. Teams will be judged on school spirit, appearance, food presentation and theme/creativity."

   You may think it could not get any better, and then they hit you with a half-time special treat, where one student from each school will participate in a field goal kicking contest. The first prize winner will receive $500 and the runner-up will receive $250, and it is only for students who sign up at the front gate with a valid student ID.

   All UAM students will have free entry with their current student ID and UAM faculty and staff may pick up their free reserved seating ticket for the game from the Office of Student Programs and Activities from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. until Nov. 6.
