The Arkansas Arts Center in Little Rock's traveling Artmobile visited the University of Arkansas-Monticello campus this past week (Feb. 15-19).

UAM booked the Artmobile and had the center come to the campus so University students, local schools and the community could come and be exposed to the art.

According to a campus-wide e-mail from UAM Professor of Art Tom Richard, the 2011 exhibit displays "Frameworks," representing "The best of the Arkansas Arts Center permanent collection."

Artmobile Educator Virgil Lawrence said, "The Artmobile offers a variety of style, art form and media."

He said they change the art out periodically and always try to offer different things.

The Artmobile has been educational for the community as several hundred people have already visited the site on campus.

This travel-size art show is air conditioned and spacious, holding multiple pieces of art.  Some of hang on the wall of the Artmobile and others stand freely. Glass or a protective covering protect each of the art pieces.

The Artmobile has been around for almost 50 years, continuously evolving with the times.

To learn more about the Artmobile or to book it, contact the Arkansas Arts Center by calling (501) 396-0350.
