The University of
Arkansas-Monticello College of Technology at McGehee plans to host an American Red
Cross blood drive Thursday, Nov. 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the conference
room.
Any college
student who donates blood will receive a free T-shirt provided by the American
Red Cross. Refreshments will also be served for the donors.
UAM-CTM sponsors two blood drives a year and hopes participation among faculty, staff members, students and anyone from the community will exceed previous numbers.
Special Projects Coordinator Dorissa Kaufman reminds everyone of the importance of donating blood.
According to RedCrossBlood.org, only three out of 100 people across America donate blood.
In past years, approximately 20 to 30 individuals donated at UAM-CTM and Kaufman hopes to see the amount of student participation increase.
“This year, our goal at UAM-CTM is to double the amount of previous donors,” Kaufman said.
